F.Peart & Co awarded celebratory plaque by Hartlepool & District Hospice

May 2012

Hartlepool & District Hospice has unveiled a new commemorative plaque, dedicated to local heating oil supplier, F. Peart & Co, based in Hartlepool, to thank the company for its long standing commitment to the hospice.

Hartlepool & District Hospice, based in Alice House, Wells Avenue, commissioned the plaque to acknowledge F. Peart & Co’s hard work and dedication to the hospice, having raised £24,000 to date for the charity.

The hospice exists to ensure people affected by life limiting illness or the death of a loved one, have the care, comfort and support they need. As the only adult hospice in the Hartlepool and East Durham area, its unique range of services makes a vital difference to the lives of thousands of families every year.

F. Peart & Co began its relationship with Hartlepool & District Hospice in 2007, as part of the ‘Guild of Patrons’ scheme, which is a minimum three year commitment and requires a donation of £15,000.

Now in its fifth year of support, F. Peart & Co has gone above and beyond the required duties of a patron and has continued to help the hospice with additional fundraising activities, including sponsored runs, charitable dinners and advertising.

Carol Sennett, corporate fundraiser at Hartlepool & District Hospice, said: “We first started working with F. Peart & Co back in January 2007, a month after the ‘Guild of Patrons’ scheme launched. Since then, the funding that we’ve had from the whole company has been tremendous.

“We often find that companies sign up the patron programme for one term, however F. Peart & Co has dedicated itself to continually supporting us and we couldn’t be more grateful. Plus, the team’s help doesn’t just stop with the one donation; they help us out with runs, raffles and golf days. They’ve been brilliant.”

Laura Jackson, business manager at F.Peart & Co, commented: “We are overjoyed about our name being on the new plaque for Hartlepool & District Hospice.

“We were happy to continue supporting such a good cause in the Hartlepool area. The hospice does wonderful things for the community and offers a comprehensive range of care and support for those with life limiting illnesses, or who are suffering from the loss of a loved one.”

As a loyal supplier to the region, providing domestic and commercial oil to remote communities, F. Peart & Co is actively involved with the local community, and in November 2011 launched a charitable bursary scheme designed to support local community groups, charities and sports teams who need a helping hand.
